What works for 500 guests and more
Above 500 you are usually booking a whole venue, a large outdoor site or a full floor of a building. Of the 59 venues here, 15 are whole-venue hires and 13 are marquees. Lost In Brixton takes up to 600 in Brixton Village. By London Bridge, Rose Court Events (700) can be hired in full, with upper rooms that look over the Thames.
Rooftops and views
Sky Garden (750) is a public park by day and has several event spaces high above the City. The Roof Top at Tobacco Dock (600) has croquet, pétanque and ping pong under open sky. At Canary Wharf, Pergola on the Wharf (700) has an outdoor terrace dressed with flowers and an open kitchen.
Outdoor sites, activities and boats
London City Beach (800) is a pop-up beach on the South Bank. Site 5 (800) is an outdoor space at Studio Spaces near Shadwell. Transport, bars and food service
At this size, getting people there and home matters as much as the space. Check how close the nearest stations are and how busy they get at closing time. Ask how many bars and food points the venue will run, since slow service is felt quickly with a big crowd. Some venues also need a security plan or extra licensing for large events, so leave time for it.
