Views from The Shard and above the river

Fourteen of the spaces here are listed as venues with a view. Inside The Shard, the Shangri-La Hotel offers its main event space for up to 160 guests, the Ren Room for 140, the Li Room for 30 and the Yi Room for 12, while Aqua Shard takes up to 360. At Rose Court Events you can hire the whole venue for 700, Level 10 for 350 or the roof terrace with 360° views for 320. London Bridge Rooftop is fully covered and heated, for up to 240.

On the water

HMS Belfast can be hired in full for up to 250 guests, with a minimum of 175. Smaller groups can take the Quarter Deck (200) or the Jubilee Deck (40). For a cruise, the Dixie Queen holds up to 550, the Elizabethan 200 with a retractable roof over its upper deck, and the Edwardian 70. Larger parties

Vinegar Yard is an open-air street food site beside London Bridge station with views of The Shard, for up to 1,000 guests. Tanner Warehouse on Bermondsey Street is a converted warehouse with its own bar and kitchen, for up to 450. Browns Butlers Wharf, near Tower Bridge, takes 300.

Riverside bars and smaller groups

At Hays Galleria, Alexander Hay and Hay's on the River each take up to 200, and the Alexander Hay Terrace 80. Further west, the Balcony Room at Swan, Shakespeare's Globe opens onto a balcony facing the river and St Paul's (120), and Omeara has a terrace for up to 70.

Getting there

London Bridge is the nearest station for 20 of these spaces. It is on the Northern and Jubilee lines and has National Rail services. Blackfriars, Bermondsey, Borough and Southwark serve one each, and two boats leave from a choice of piers. The South Bank & Waterloo is a walk west along the river, and the City and Tower Hill are across the bridges.
