Rooftops and terraces
Ten of the West End spaces are rooftops. For views, the Garden Rooftop at the Assembly Hotel looks across the London skyline (up to 100 guests), Aqua Nueva has two roof terraces over the rooftops (400) and the Johnson Roof Terrace at Savoy Place looks over the Thames (330). Willows On The Roof is a botanical rooftop bar above Oxford Street (200). Smaller groups have the Soho Sky Terrace off Carnaby Street (80), Mortimer House in Fitzrovia (120) and The Penthouse at AllBright Mayfair, with two terraces (60).
Gardens and courtyards
Fountain Court at Somerset House is a neoclassical courtyard on the Strand for up to 2,500 guests, the largest space on this page. The courtyard at Sanderson has trees, a fountain and a reflecting pool (160). Mr Fogg's Secret Garden (100) and the Jurema Terrace at The Mandrake, planted with greenery (120), are smaller options. Near Warren Street, the roof terrace at The Prince of Wales Feathers suits 50.
Activities and later evenings
Swingers West End combines crazy golf, street food and cocktails for up to 800, with a separate terrace for 120. Oche on the Strand is built around darts, from the whole venue (330) to a semi-private area (48) and a VIP room (24). Lucky Voice Soho offers karaoke for 160. If the evening is about dancing, Salsa Soho (375), Cabana Covent Garden (200) and Barrio Soho, with a DJ booth and dancefloor (180), are the ones to look at. See also our summer activities collection.
Smaller groups
Ten spaces here take 100 guests or fewer. As well as the rooftops above, there is the roof terrace at Claudette (100), the terrace at Heddon Street Kitchen near Piccadilly Circus (40) and Orrery, a French restaurant off Marylebone High Street (70).
Getting there
Oxford Circus is the nearest station for six of these venues, Temple for four and Bond Street for three. Oxford Circus is on the Central, Bakerloo and Victoria lines, and Bond Street adds the Elizabeth line. Venues by Regent's Park, including Regents College (up to 1,000), are on the Marylebone page. For a tighter search, see the area pages for Mayfair, Marylebone & Regent's Park and Covent Garden & Strand.
