Planning a corporate summer party for 2027 in London

Summer 2027 is closer than it looks. June and July have just 18 Thursday and Friday evenings between them, the nights most teams ask for when booking a work summer party, and the best rooftops and gardens are booked for those first. This guide sets out the dates to plan around, how to narrow the choice, and what to do now.

Why start now

Summer is the busiest season for London's party venues, whether you are planning an office summer party for one team or a celebration for the whole company. Some clients book a year ahead, and the earlier you start, the more of the list you can choose from. You don't need every detail decided: a rough budget, a likely number of guests and two or three possible dates are enough to check which venues are free.

Starting early also gives you time to visit your shortlist and compare like with like, rather than taking whatever is left in May.

Key dates for summer 2027

  • 18 Thursday and Friday evenings in June and July. These are the most requested nights. Have a second date ready, or look at Monday to Wednesday, when venues are often more flexible.
  • Monday 31 May: the late May bank holiday. The week that follows is school half term at some London schools, so check before picking that week.
  • Monday 28 June to Sunday 11 July: Wimbledon. A good excuse for a tennis-themed evening, or a fortnight to work around if your team are fans.
  • Late July: the school summer holidays begin (in Barking and Dagenham, for example, the school year ends on Thursday 22 July). More of your team will be away from then, so June to mid-July usually gets the best turnout.
  • Monday 30 August: the summer bank holiday. Late August and early September can work well for teams who prefer to celebrate after the holidays.

Narrow the choice by setting

We list more than 300 spaces for summer parties across London. Deciding on the kind of evening first rules most of them out quickly:

Then filter by group size and area. Our guide to choosing a venue walks through the decisions in order, and the outdoor party guide covers what to ask about the weather.

Budgeting for 2027

Most corporate summer parties we book in London cost between £50 and £200 a head, plus VAT. Where yours falls depends on the date, how much of the venue you have to yourselves, and what the package includes. Our cost guide explains how venues charge and the extras to allow for.

As venues update their listings for 2027, each shows a price level, from ££ (under £50 a head) to £££££ (£150 or more), and you can filter the venue search by it. Treat it as a guide to start the conversation: the same venue can cost more or less depending on your date and numbers.

What to do this month

  • Agree a budget and who signs it off.
  • Settle a likely number of guests, not the full invite list.
  • Pick two or three possible dates, checking them against the key dates above.
  • Decide the kind of evening: drinks, dinner, an activity or a mix. Our summer party ideas can help.
  • Shortlist venues by setting, size and area, and check availability.

For everything after that, from visits and contracts to final numbers, follow our month-by-month planning timeline.

Let us check dates for you

Availability for summer 2027 changes week by week. Send us your budget, numbers and preferred dates and we will come back with venues that are free, with prices for your date. Our service is free: we are paid by the venue, not by you.
